For a good introduction to the natural beauty that Curacao has, the West Tour shows you all the beautiful views and sites on the rural side of the island.
After being picked up from your hotel with a comfortable air-conditioned bus, you will first head to the hotel area Piscadera and the old Shell neighborhood Julianadorp. The real west tour begins past the round about that divides the East and West part of the island from one another.
Flamingos in their natural habitat can be seen almost always at the old salt flats of Jan Kok. While there is no salt harvest anymore, the water is still full of the little shrimps that the flamingos feed on and that give them their pink color.
The tour continues with picture opportunities at two premier beaches; Sta. Cruz with its quaint pirates nest and the pristine Knip Bay with its brilliant turquoise water white sandy beach.
After rounding the most Western tip of the island the tour will continue to one of Curacao's geographical rarities - Boka Tabla. This cave is accessible from the shore, but connected to the ocean. Descend the slippery steps to awe at the rumble of the waves crashing into the cave. Boka Tabla is part of the Shete Boka National Park and is the last stop of this tour.
